This year’s Paris Fashion Week did not disappoint!

With nearly a dozen Asian designers making their mark on the runway, we are getting bold looks with an elegant flair, fabulous collaborations, traditional and modern chic collections.  And I am all for seeing Asian-owned brands shine brighter than ever!

China’s Feng Chen Wang had jaws on the floor with an exciting collaboration with UGG, a brand that has been soaking in their trending moment since releasing the Tasman slipper in 2023, which became a staple in every young girl’s closet.

Wang is known for blending tradition with streetwear.  So for 2025 Paris Fashion Week, she stuck with a supernatural utility theme, transforming everyday pieces into otherworldly works of art. Her avant-garde designs were inspired by the 2,500-year-old Chinese text, Shan Hai Jing, with accessories inspired the mythical creatures depicted in the scrolls.

This year’s collection, plus previous Fashion Week appearance, have solidified Feng Chen Wang’s legacy in the industry.  But she wasn’t the only Chinese designer who slaughtered the runway. Let me introduce layering-king Sean Suen, the man who created his own spin on Western fashion.

Drawing inspiration from the Tea Horse Road, China’s first ancient trade route, Suen used texture, strong silhouettes, and an earthy color palette to maintain the essence of modern masculinity.  What really stole the show was the mesmerizing way Sean Suen used every coat that appeared on the runway to honor tradition, reminding us of the culture of those that traveled along the road.

Just when it seemed 2025 Paris Fashion Week couldn’t get any better, Ziggy Chen stepped on the scene with his take on heritage-infused minimalism.

Since his first Fashion Week debut in 2020, Chen has always been able to transport the audience to a universe where past and present combine effortlessly.  His 2025 Fall/Winter collection was influenced by Zen philosophy, with a distinctively asymmetric bias.  But he hewed to certain lines to keep a grounded feel.

And just like that, it’s safe to say that Paris Fashion Week 2025 was unforgettable! From mystical streetwear magic to Zen-inspired masterpieces, Asian designers are shining by bringing our culture and history to the forefront of fashion.
