In 1973, she was chosen as the first woman to head the American Physical Society. It is important for all asian americans not to forget this great lady. She succeeded in america at a time where discrimination against the chinese was prominent (chinese exculsion act til 1947) and in Physics which tends to be a male dominated profession."
