China puts on a massive military show of force in Tiananmen Square for the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China (PRC) on October 1, 2009. Chinese President Hu Jintao gave a keynote speech. A military parade and mass pageantry will follow the gathering and pass through Chang'an Avenue. From 8:00 to noon on October 1, CCTV and CCTV.com will deliver live coverage of the National Day celebrations including the military parade in multiple languages (Chinese, English, French, Spanish, Arabic and Russian) both on TV and on the internet. CCTV-9 (English) will rebroadcast the celebrations at 16:00, 24:00 and 7:00 (Oct.2), which is also available at english.CCTV.com. From 20:00 to 22:00, netizens around the world will be able to watch live broadcast of the National Day Evening Gala and Fireworks Display at Tian'anmen Square on CCTV and at CCTV.com.
