Happy to see that you are embracing the your natural looks. You seem
overly emotional on this topic. Why is your focus directed so heavily
towards one nationality (Koreans)? It is a well-known fact that
plastic surgery is a world wide "epidemic". There are many many
Chinese, Japanese, Taiwanese and other Asian cultures suffering from
eurocentric beauty ideals. What about all the sex changes in Thailand?
This sounds more like a personal bitter tirade than a factual report.
If you want to appear less caustic & ignorant, you may want to try
being honest. If you want to focus on eyelid surgery only or Asian
"gender tweaking" in general, than be factually accurate so that the
message is not lost.
Korea is not the only country that is
suffering. What about all the plastic surgery clinics in Southeast
Asia(the philippines, thailand, etc)? People are flocking there for
the greatest deals and hospital care packages. More than three of my
Chinese American friends got breast implants & liposuction this year.
More that three of my Korean & Japanese American friends got eyelid
surgery. More than two of my Caucasian friends received nose surgery.
There are many more examples I can list.
What about other races
engaging in the same type of practices? Look at all the American
celebrities as well.
Isn't it a widely known fact that every race
has their own particular brand of appearance perfecting/
europeanizing?
With African Americans- hair manipulation & nose
surgery (ie. Tyra Banks, Halle Berry), Asian Americans- eyelids & nose
surgery, Arab & Arab Americans-nose surgery, Americans in general-nose
surgery (angelina jolie, jennifer aniston, scarlett johansen, kate
hudson, cameron diaz.......endless list), breast augmentation (too
long of a list), botox & liposuction. And what about South American
countries famed for their body sculpting techniques? How crazy is it
that a Brazilian beauty queen several years back documented over FORTY
plastic procedures including Hip bone implants?!

Please,
you are not helping anyone better their lives or understanding by
spreading biased & prejudice views.

On a personal note,
to be clear, I too am personally very turned off by extreme plastic
surgeries, as I have seen too many women address their pain or
problems this way. I've also had too many Asian friends that worsened
their emotional issues afterwards as they thought surgery would make
them happier or more attractive or more powerful.
I do agree that
it is a personal choice. However, it is quite evident that your
ending statement was more a perfunctory disclaimer, tainted by obvious
insincerity.

We do not need more hating in this world. It
would be pleasing, however, to see an amendment to this video for
accuracy as I do agree that plastic surgery is becoming a disturbing
solution to deep-rooted insecurities that seem too only get magnified
post procedures (according to revelations from friends). I also
commend you for being proud of your natural features. Continue on in
healthy, happy confidence.
