Remember the tv show [The Facts of Life]? At some point George Clooney was put on the show as a cast member. In an interview, Kim Feilds had a major crush on him. She said they wouldn't show her as a love interest with him, because the interracial thing wasn't 'in' back then.
I remember they would show the girls going all the way to Europe for vacation, and 'Toodie" would still manage to hook up with a black man. It was like they were trying to say,'Black stay with Black'. Even though the country was loaded with all sorts of men. The black men were the only ones interested in Toodie.
I think that "Romeo Must Die" was pretty good. As far as the interracial thing. But you never see much more movies of BW and AM. I found out the AM are in the same predicament. Tv wants to also view them as being sexless and 'Non-chick worthy'. Its crazy.
I think AM and BW really share that in common. On alot of shows they made it seem like either the black women were not interested in getting a man, too loud mouth and uninterested if the guy approached her [of another race] , or they made it seem like she only belonged with a black man.
I think BW and AM are good together. We share some things in common. Society views us as 'less likely to hook up'.

oh gosh mileena please stop...a public forum isn't the place to be airing out your dirty laundry nor is it appropriate to condemn an entire nation simply due to your experience...has it ever occurred to you that even though you have been wronged, certain bad decisions might have put you in such a situation?...back down and stop baring your fangs sis, bitterness isn't attractive.

After reading some of the comments posted, i must say i'm rather shocked because it never occurred to me that asian males might find black females attractive...i guess i'm too used to the stereotypical anti-interracial-relationship- asian-family

Aello everybody,
I've checked this site out for a few days now and I want to commend all the AM/BF married couples who are making it work! It's hard enough to just DATE outside your race,so you get my respect for choosing your own way :)
I am a B/F living in Topeka KS who grew up Kansas City (soon to take refuge in Denver) Maybe it's a mid-western thing but you rarely see AM/BF together. I mean I'm counting twice! But it's good to see there are people out there who don't let #s and assumptions cloud their minds. One thing we must remember everyday......no one is exactly alike.

I used to go to school with alot of asian boys. I always had the biggest crushes on them. I remember not being able to admit how I really felt, because I was too shy. I wasn't used to the culture, it was different and new.
Now my bf is an AM. He said he never went to school with BW, he wasn't raised in the USA. But he said he went through a similar thing when he first moved to Cali
at the age of 20!
