Ichiro, Just Curious
Look, I admit there are some nice places to go in Japan. Some of the people can be okay "when they want to". Its just hard to really explain it. I have seen people come on here talking about Japan being so cool and okay with interracial relationships. I don't know what they are talking about. I am sick of the constant staring, whispering and the arrogant attitudes. They are so snobby here. Not everyone, but the majority. The whole thing has made me feel so cranky and mean lately. I am not usually that way. Its changed me alot. My soon to be ex is kinda "popular".
They wanna know why hes with a "Black Woman". They were okay with it when it didn't seem too serious between us. They thought,"oh hes just being a man and having fun". At least thats what they assumed.
It doesn't matter how much good college education you have/ or if you come from a decent, respectable family. Even if you carry yourself in a dignified ladylike way. It all boils down to skin color with many of them. I think its so stupid. We were getting married. Forget that. I can't marry a control freak breathing down my neck. He did a complete 180 turn around on me. Dr Jeckyll and Mr.Hyde. You guys have heard the phrase, "On Japanese people time right"? Well its no joke. This man does it LITERALLY, and raises holy hell over it too!
I am going to be leaving here in 3 days and I can't wait. I miss my Momma, daddy and my sister. I can't wait to see my family. Its been 2 years.

"Its ironic. BW are always bitching about the media seeing them as unfeminine. Yet, they want to be seen as STRong BLAck WOMen. So which is it? So do you BW want to be seen as masculine toughies?"-------> insider
It does not matter what race the woman is...what woman in her right mind wants to be seen as a masculine toughie? As a Shemale? Every woman wants to be seen as beautiful and delicate. Black women want to be seen as strong yet not the strength of a man. Strong in the sense of being able to take care of herself, and having confidence. It seems like your a bit ignorant. You don't seem to understand the concept of "women in general". No woman wants to be seen as a weak and desperate pity case either. There is nothing wrong with a woman who is educated and independent. Having these qualities does not make a woman masculine. You have made this into an issue of it being "Black women".
There are just as many feminine beautiful "Black women" on this earth as other cultures. You have not seen or met them, because you are too busy looking at and listening to all of those stereotyped images from the 'sheltered' end of society (television movies and songs)-media scum.
If you would stop for a moment to really think about it...your comment makes no sense. Do you view Asian women, White women, and Latinas the same too? If they want to be seen as a confident, strong and beatiful woman then they are masuline too? And always bitching? I think you have alot to learn in this life. And would you say that Asian Men that are not skilled in martial arts are weak little punks? Because you know what the ((MEDIA)) SAYS don't you? That all Asian Men do martial arts and whimp out easily when it comes to Big Strong White Men? Would you say this part of the media is true too? Or do you feel like the media may be...Er Uhmm... perhaps...
a bit biased and loaded with stereotypes most of the time????
stereotyping is dumb

My daughters are multiracial, and very feminine in appearance. To my extreme delight they are tomboys like I was. Their father is very thankful for this also as one might imagine.
I'm raising them to appreaciate other poeple's heritage as well as their own. I want them to be strong women, and they just happen to be black.I feel comfortable identifying them as such because I believe most African-Americans are multiracial, anyway. Still they can make up their own minds about such things when they are ready. Given their outward appearance and backgroung they need to be strong women.
Strong black woman to me is a black woman who can hold it together despite all the adversity her people face being black in a society oriented towards whites, and being female in a society oriented towards males. I don't think their is anything inherently masculine about that. I guess 'strong' could apply to any woman of any race who does so.

Insider,
First of all you need to be schooled about a few things on something you obviously do not know nor understand about black women on. The phrase STRONG BLACK WOMAN refers to the inner strength to overcome abuse, hard ships with family, home, relationships, finances ( including the financial and emotional difficulties of being a single parent holding to the obligation of raising her children without a father). A strong black woman will hold to her responsibilities to the caring of herself, children, and her man for their walfare and their stregnth (backbone). Another analogy is the strong single black woman who strives and accomplishes what usually is done by the effort of both husband and wife such as a car, fiancial security, owning of her own home, spiritual all with the package of raising her children in a proper environment a lot of times all at once - DONE WITHOUT REACHING OUT FOR HANDOUTS AND WITH NO COMPLAINTS. She knows this is just what she has to do to survive when not recieving assistance from another. I truly beg to differ with you son! A stong black woman is much the h** different as to being compared to a b**ching _____. You may want to be wiser and learn about black women (not from talk shows, MTV, Rap videos) if you like to persue them rather than make snide comments/remarks of what you know NOTHING about!! By the way, these "sensitive" circumstances is what majority of us black women from now to generations on back pride ourselves on and what many black men admire and RESPECT!! You need to do the same!
Had to kick the facts again!!
